On August 29, 2021, the Anniversary for Katrina, Hurricane Ida came ashore, delivering a severe blow to southeast Louisiana. The Lafitte - Barataria - Crown Point area were among the hardest hit, experiencing 100+ mph winds and an 11 ft tidal surge. Many of these homes have NEVER flooded before.
This site has been specifically set up to help those in the Lafitte - Barataria - Crown Point area hard hit by Hurricane Ida. The Hurricane Ida Relief Fund was set up to help provide fundraising for families and individuals who cannot help themselves. They are the elderly, handicapped, uninsured, or just folks that just don’t have the means to get back on their feet without your help. Funds will be used to replace appliances and other items lost and not covered by insurance or to help cover high hurricane insurance deductibles.
This site was created by the Perrin family to work in conjunction with their volunteer demolition work currently being done for parishioners in the area. We have been working with St Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte to help with fundraising for those who have asked the church for help. The Hurricane Ida Relief Fund donation links on this site go directly to the church’s website donations page. Please select the parishioner donation section or note your donation as a parishioner donation.
Many people from around the country want to know what they can do. While a financial donation helps, adopting a Cajun Family and assisting them getting their lives and homes back to normal is the ultimate gift! Please contact St Anthony to help matching you up with a family in need.
For most families hard hit, they are just starting to get their homes gutted and making plans to rebuild. You can help by donating money or much needed new appliances to help them in putting their lives back together.
If you‘re not in a position to donate money or would rather spending time helping others, we can always use help in tearing out carpet and sheetrock in flooded homes.
Your donation will help this resilient people bounce back! This campaign runs until the end of 2021 and is to help victims of Hurricane Ida.

The Town of Jean Lafitte and Barataria in southeast Louisiana are the home of many families of generations of fishermen, oystermen, shrimpers, oil & chemical industry workers, boat builders, and craftsmen. They are smart, hard working, religious, family centric, resilient, and love life on the bayou.
This area is also the gateway to some of the best fishing in the world. Fisherman around the country flock to this area in search of redfish, speckled trout, and a variety of other species. Swamp tours are also a big draw as are nature tours, food, and hunting.
